A Day of Learning, Connection, and New Perspectives
On August 29, 2026, the Project Zealous team attended WordCamp Philippines 2026 at the Iloilo Convention Center. The event brought together professionals and technology enthusiasts for a day of learning, networking, and sharing ideas.
For our team, WordCamp was an opportunity to learn from industry professionals, connect with the WordPress community, and gain fresh perspectives that we can bring back to Project Zealous.
Learning from the WordPress Community
Throughout the event, we attended talks covering WordPress, artificial intelligence, accessibility, business, and professional growth. Each session offered valuable insights into emerging technologies, industry practices, and the importance of continuous learning.
The discussions on AI were particularly relevant to our work as developers. They highlighted both the possibilities of using AI to improve productivity and the importance of using it responsibly while continuing to develop our own skills.
Insights From Our Team
Although we attended the same event, each member of the Project Zealous team gained different insights and experiences.
“Attending the latest WordCamp Philippines event in Iloilo gave me a lot of amazing insights as a WordPress developer of more than three years. It reminded me that WordPress is still very much alive, continuing to evolve and adapt to the modern web—especially now that AI and modern web architectures are becoming more accessible to everyone. I was also glad to meet people from different backgrounds and hear their stories about how WordPress has become part of their daily lives and work. Overall, the experience was a great eye-opener and a reminder that there is so much more to WordPress beyond the code we write. I left the event feeling inspired, grateful for the community, and excited to see where WordPress continues to go.”

“It was such a great feeling to be part of WordCamp 2026 with Team Project Zealous! We learned a lot about AI, especially how it can be used effectively as a developer. In today’s rapidly evolving world, AI continues to grow and make our work easier and more efficient. One of the most important things I learned is that we shouldn’t become too dependent on AI. Instead, we should use it responsibly and in the right way—making AI a tool that supports our skills, helps us improve, and allows us to grow along with the technology. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m grateful to have learned so much and shared this experience with an amazing team.”

“Attending WordCamp Philippines 2026 was a rewarding experience that gave me the opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired by fellow developers, designers, and members of the WordPress community. I especially enjoyed the talks about AI and burnout, which gave me new perspectives on technology, personal growth, and finding purpose in the work we do. The AI presentation was particularly inspiring because it showed how creative and practical AI can be when we take the initiative to explore its possibilities. I also enjoyed reconnecting with former classmate and an instructor from college whom I haven’t seen in years and also get to spend quality time with the team outside of the office. Overall, WordCamp Philippines 2026 left me with valuable insights, meaningful connections, and renewed motivation to keep learning and growing as a developer.”

“Since that was my first time attending a Wordcamp event, it was something to remember. Connecting with people from the event, knowing more about the WordPress community, and the insights from the speakers that broaden my perspective in the use and knowledge of Artificial Intelligence or AI in our work and daily lives. Especially the talks about Pivot and Burnout by Chryz Conception, where she taught us what’s the other perspective of being successful and how to overcome it. Those are something to keep in mind as I go in the field that I’ve chosen and to the future awaits me. It was an exciting event and I really have fun along with my team.”

“It’s my first time attending WordCamp since I started my career as WordPress Developer and the event itself taught me new things especially the AI. WordPress technology is evolving and new techs and applications also upgrading. I learned a lot of things about what is the latest trends and how to apply it on our works. I also experienced making fun on their sponsor booth like playing any type of simple games, spending time on long queue just to get a simple tokens or gifts or prizes. Hoping to join on the next WordCamp event or any type of event related to the technologies we are using with.”
